The basic principles, concepts and theories will be presented during lectures. Occasionally handouts will be distributed covering specific topics. Students are expected to supplement and support the lecture material with their own reading.

Autonomous study will include reading assignments and initial research as well as solving case studies.

Lectures
An approach to undertaking the Business Asia Project will be presented during the lectures. The main learning process takes place through the interaction of project teams with faculty and client personnel.

Self Study:
Students are expected to work with the client in a consulting mode, write a report and prepare a presentation for the client.

Qualifikationsziele
After successfully completing the module the student will possess a fundamental understanding of the Asian business context and cultures. After successfully completing part 1 of the Business Asia Project the student will appreciate how to apply the IB Bachelor programme theory within the context of a live project for a client organisation.

The module "Business Asia I" is taught in English. The module "Business Asia I" represents part 1 of the major module "Business Asia". The second part "Business Asia II" follows in the Summer Semester. The Module Business Asia is multidisciplinary and has links to all areas of international business. Anyone considering a management career in Asia will benefit from the practical aspects of this module. Lectures are supported and complemented with case studies and guest speakers. Live project with a client in Dresden / Saxony who wishes to develop their business in Asia.
