Instruction content/structure

The module deepens the knowledge of the scientific practice and extends existing basic knowledge for the creation of scientific work. In doing so, students are familiarized with the different types of scientific papers and their respective purposes. Based on the quality criteria of scientific work, basic craft techniques and selected analysis methods are presented and tested to tackle this complex task.

Qualification objectives

Professional and scientific competence

  • Graduates have learned to integrate uncertainty into strategic issues (general corporate strategy, innovation, knowledge management).
  • Graduates have learned to systematically evaluate strategic and operational information, process and resource alternatives and to make decisions.
  • Graduates have learned to independently formulate and process an innovative scientific task from applied research.

Ability to take up qualified gainful employment

  • Graduates can implement theoretically acquired knowledge in a practical and solution-oriented manner.
  • Graduates have the ability to generate the necessary information from extensive data and to make well-founded (strategic) decisions.
  • Graduates have learned to independently break down complex operational tasks into sub-tasks and to solve them in a company-related manner.
  • Graduates can organise themselves and show teamwork and leadership skills.
  • Graduates can research, interpret and question specialised scientific texts.
