  • Climate, air and water budgets in urban environments
  • Ecology and biological interactions in urban habitats
  • Ecological challenges in cities: Neobiota; novel ecosystems; noise, light and pollution of water, air, and soil 
  • Concepts of urban green spaces: green infrastructure, concepts of wilderness, ecological solutions to urban problems, eco-cities
  • Governance and stakeholders in urban environments
